Biography

I received my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 1999 from Ohio University.  I then attended the University of Toledo College of Law and received my Juris Doctorate in 2002.  While attending law school, I worked as an intern for the Ohio EPA and the Lucas County Public Defender’s Office.  I also represented indigent parties in domestic relations matters as a part of the University of Toledo College of Law Human Rights Clinic.  I was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 2002.

After graduating from law school, I worked for a small insurance defense firm in Columbus.  Upon relocating to Southwest Ohio, I worked as an associate for Christopher J. Cornyn, LPA, a general practice firm.  In 2004 I opened my own private practice in Springboro and focused my time on family law and criminal defense.  During that time, I also served as the public defender in Springboro Mayor’s Court and handled pro bono domestic relations cases for the Volunteer Lawyer’s Project.  I also served as Guardian ad litem on numerous custody and children services cases.  In 2009, I was appointed as a magistrate in Warren County Juvenile-Probate Court.  In my nearly 11 years with the Court, I presided over approximately 8,000 cases including custody, support, delinquency, truancy, children services, and probate cases.  I have mediation training, particularly in the area of family law.  In 2020, I re-entered private practice and joined the Law Offices of W. Scott Russell, LLC.

My extensive knowledge of family law, court procedure, and the Southwest Ohio legal community will enable me to provide you the guidance you need and the support you want while we work to resolve your case.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children, as well as extended family and friends. We enjoy traveling as a family and attending University of Dayton Flyers basketball games. We also enjoy skiing, hiking, and belonging to the local swim club. I am active in the local youth sports community through our children's numerous teams and activities. I am also a member of several legal associations and am active in the children's advocacy community.
